Our "Simple" Return & Replacement Policy

At The Simple Stencil, we want you to love your space. Because our decals and stencils are made-to-order specifically for you, we have established the following guidelines to ensure a smooth process for everyone.

Damaged or Defective Items (We’ve Got You Covered!)

If your order arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, we will make it right immediately. To help us assist you quickly:

  • Contact us right away at support@thesimplestencil.com.

  • Snap a few photos of the damage/defect and the packaging.

  • Keep the item until you’ve spoken with us (please don't discard it yet!).

Note: Digital images are required for a full refund or a free replacement of damaged items. This helps us file a claim with the carrier and improve our quality control.


Change of Mind Returns

We offer a 30-day return window from the date you receive your item. To be eligible, the item must be unused, unwrinkled, and in its original packaging.

The Restocking Fee: Since each item is custom-made to your specifications, we charge a 20% restocking fee on change-of-mind returns. This helps offset the production costs of items that cannot be resold. This fee applies to:

  • Ordering the wrong size or color.

  • Changing your mind about the design.

  • Ordering multiple sizes with the intent to return one.

Wait! Let us help you first: To avoid fees, we encourage you to review our size charts carefully. You can even Contact us with a photo and/or measurement of your space—we’d love to help you choose the perfect size and color before you buy! 


Non-Returnable Items

Due to their highly personalized nature, the following cannot be returned:

  • Custom Designs: Items created in our Design Center, Family Monograms, or personalized names.

  • Custom Printed Decals: Items featuring your specific logo or mascot.

  • Clearance items and Gift Cards.

  • Tip: If you are unsure about your wall surface, contact us for a sample before ordering a custom printed decal!


How to Start Your Return

  1. Mail your item to:

  2. Include a note with your order number, contact info, and whether you would like a refund or store credit.

  3. Shipping Costs: For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping. If your original order qualified for free shipping, the actual shipping cost (typically $6–$15) will be deducted from your final refund.

Installation Help

Having trouble getting your decal to stick? Don’t give up! Send us a photo of the issue and the wall surface. We can often send replacement letters, words, or even a full decal once we understand what’s happening. We are here to ensure you are 100% satisfied.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval. Approved refunds are processed immediately to your original payment method. Please note that banks can take up to 30 days to reflect the credit on your statement.
